Just like our mothers ...

In honor of Mothers' Day, colleagues from the Strut offices shared what they love most about their mother, what quirky habit they learned or inherited from her and the best advice she ever gave them. For more responses, check today's previous entries.

Jacqueline Pierik, Strut designer

I love: that she’s very generous with her talents. She’s extremely gifted as a seamstress and won’t ever hesitate to help anyone else with alterations or sewing projects.

Quirky habit: I tend to cook like her. When she cooks, she cooks big. I always make enough food for everybody, with leftovers for the next day. I never learned to pare down.

Best advice: She raised us not to complain or whine, to just do it.

Cathy Nelson, editor of Vital (Strut's partner health-and-fitness magazine)

I love: that no matter what happens, I know I can call her and she'll listen and give me good advice.

Quirky habit: I don't like people wearing their shoes in the house.

Best advice: Sometimes it's not worth worrying about and you just gotta let it go.

Now it's your turn - what do you love about your mom? Post your response, and make sure to tell your mom to check it out!
