More tributes to mom

I love: that she was crazy about animals. She didn’t like people so much but she loved animals to the point that she once enticed a squirrel she’d trained to eat out of her hand into our house. It ran 100 mph up and down the draperies, scurried up the stairs and ran all over the beds and dresser mirrors. She had to chase it out of the house with a broom!

Quirky habit: Trying not to waste a drop of water. My mother turned off the faucets so hard she broke them. And when she showered, she'd turn off the water while soaping up. This seemed odd to me years ago, when water conservation was for desert dwellers, not Great Lakes State folks. But now I’d say she was ahead of her time.

Best advice: Keep the top on the blender when you’re making a milkshake.

I love: that I can call her whenever I need to and she will listen to me ... she does not always agree with me, but she will listen

Quirky habit: Sometimes, for people whom I am fond of, I will pass by them and scratch their back.

Best advice: To always have a forgiving heart.

We'll keep posting more, but we'd love for you to tell us yours!
