Party pictures from Promenade of Hope

Last night's fundraiser at our presses was very, very cool. More than 400 people came out to Sterling Heights for a very good cause -- to raise money and awareness for domestic violence. The theme was "Changing the Headlines," examining the media's role in the issue. I have many, many photos and I will post throughout the day.

Newsprint was hung throughout the facility, paired with colored lighting for dramatic impact.

News boxes like these became props for a few hours during the party.

Diana Lewis was the emcee and delivered a powerful speech about domestic violence from the perspective of someone who has needed to cover so many stories throughout the years.

Alicia Standefer addressed the crowd about how personal domestic violence has become for her since her sister was murdered by her husband last February.

That's it for now. More photos -- including the reveal of the design competition -- to come very soon.
