Huron-Clinton Metroparks

Where: The 13 Metroparks in southeast Michigan

Socialize, exercise and gain experience while lending a hand at the parks, especially at the nature centers and golf courses. Volunteers who reach a designated number of hours receive a Metroparks annual permit, free use of some facilities, and an invitation to recognition dinners in the parks. Volunteer for a single project or on an ongoing basis.

2008 MS Longest Day of Golf

Where: More than 40 courses across the state (half in metro Detroit)

Register to golf all day at participating courses that will waive greens fees for the day, allowing registered golfers to raise $315,000 for the National MS Society.

Cost: $125 minimum per golfer; cart fees might apply

Shades of Green: art Rescued, Recovered, Reworked, Repurposed
Start: 10:00 am
End: 7:00 pm

 Where: River’s Edge Gallery, 3024 Biddle St., Wyandotte

Shades of Green: art Rescued, Recovered, Reworked, Repurposed features artwork with a “green” message from local and regional artists, such as Patricia Izzo, among others. The artwork ranges from oil paintings and fine art photography to sculptures and furniture.

The Print

Where: Ann Arbor Art Center, 117 W. Liberty St., Ann Arbor

The 26th annual exhibition features a range of works created by Michigan-based artists of various print techniques.
