Where: The 13 Metroparks in southeast Michigan Socialize, exercise and gain experience while lending a hand at the parks, especially at the nature centers and golf courses. Volunteers who reach a designated number of hours receive a Metroparks annual permit, free use of some facilities, and an invitation to recognition dinners in the parks. Crafty chairs to be auctioned off will be on display at this Grosse Ile Alliance for the Arts fundraiser. A portion of the proceeds also will go toward supporting local artists. Be sure to check out the creation by local artist Erin Suess, who will craft a chair for Strut magazine. The chairs will be on display Friday-Sunday, and hors d’oeuvres and wine will be served at Friday’s live auction. A silent auction also will take place.
